Questions, answered
Safe enough for the folder you’re afraid to touch.
Spruce is deliberately conservative: it explains the plan, waits for approval, and keeps a way back.
Can Spruce permanently delete a file?
No. Anything you approve for deletion goes to the system Trash or Recycle Bin. Spruce has no permanent-delete command.
Does Spruce upload or read my files in the cloud?
No. Scanning, matching, planning, and file operations happen on your computer. Optional AI parsing sends only the instruction you typed, and only after you add your own API key.
What happens if I change my mind?
Open History and undo the run. Spruce records moves, renames, archives, and Trash or Recycle Bin operations so you can reverse them later.
Do I need Pro to try Spruce?
No. Manual cleanups, suggestions, flows, previews, and undo are free. Pro adds background automation when Spruce is closed.
