Privacy
How Spruce handles data.

The short version
Your files stay on your computer.
Spruce scans and changes only the folders you choose. The website uses anonymous traffic measurements, aggregate download requests, and optional ad measurement.
Files stay on your computer
Scanning, matching, planning, previews, file operations, and run history are processed locally by the desktop app. Spruce does not upload your file names, folder contents, or files to this website or a Spruce account service.
Folder access is chosen by you
Spruce can process only the folders and files you select or authorize through your operating system. That access is used to create previews and perform the operations you approve. You can remove access or uninstall the app through your computer.
Optional AI instructions
Local parsing works without an AI account. If you add your own Claude or OpenAI API key, Spruce sends the instruction you choose to that provider for parsing. It does not send file names, folder listings, or file contents. The provider processes that instruction under its own terms, retention rules, and privacy policy.
Website analytics
Vercel Web Analytics provides anonymous, aggregated page views, referrers, and device information without advertising cookies. Speed Insights measures website performance. Neither service receives files or instructions from the desktop app, and Spruce does not send custom installer-click events to Vercel.
Downloads
Installers and the machine-readable release record are delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process standard request information such as IP address, user agent, requested file, time, and security signals to deliver and protect those downloads under its own policies. Spruce uses aggregate successful installer-request totals to understand which builds are downloaded.
Optional Meta ad measurement
The Meta pixel loads only after you accept the “Optional ad measurement” prompt and only when it is configured. It may record pages visited and selected site actions such as download clicks. Meta may associate this activity with a Meta account for advertising. Declining does not affect the app or downloads.
Your privacy choices
Spruce respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track by declining optional ad measurement. You can revoke a prior choice using Privacy choices in the footer. Declining or revoking prevents future Meta events from this site; Meta controls data it already received under its own policies.
Retention
Local app settings and run history remain on your computer until you remove them or uninstall the app. Spruce does not maintain a central account profile for beta use. Website and download vendors retain their limited service data according to their published policies and security needs.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask about, access, correct, delete, or restrict personal information. Because most Spruce app data stays on your computer, you control it there. Send website-data questions to support and include enough detail for us to evaluate the request without sending sensitive file information.
